Format for classes as of August 2021
I teach classes using a ruler foot and Westalee Design Templates. When you sign up for a class, you will receive a Welcome Letter within 48 hours. On the 1st of the following month, you will receive the first lesson and then subsequent lessons monthly after that. All lessons include videos and handouts. There is a private Facebook group you are welcome to join where you will find albums filled with inspiration from previous students.
Every month, I will hold live sessions in my studio, aka Studio Time with Pam. I am currently doing those via Zoom. Times are Pacific US and will be at 5:30pm and then repeated at 9:00am the following day. I will alternate between Tuesday / Wednesday and Friday/ Saturday. This will be a time for me to help anyone with challenges or just show you new things. I am also available via email through out your journey, and well honestly way beyond. Details of how this will work will be sent in your Welcome Letter.
The Quilt as You Go Sampler Series
This is a 7-session class exploring The Westalee Ruler Foot , the 12” Arc, and all the templates in the Sampler Set 1. You will learn different ways you can use these templates through videos and a monthly live session. The quilt was designed by Leonie West of Westalee Design and they are her videos. I offer alternatives, tips, and more details on how to stitch out the designs. I share the challenges I had and anticipate what others may have, how to avoid certain mistakes, etc. This includes pictures of my blocks every month. Every month focuses on 1 or more templates, for example, the first month is the 12″ Arc. Another month uses the Clamshell and the 2″ Simple Circle. And so on. Most months have 4 blocks that are the same size with different design options. You can do those options, make them all the same, or come up with your own designs. Some students have opted to just do the exercises and not actually make the quilt. You can use the blocks as table toppers, wall hangings, pillows, etc. What you will learn is how to use all the templates in the Sampler Set. Using the reference lines on the templates and on your quilt, are explored. In addition to learning the basic shapes, you are shown alternative ways throughout the course to use the templates. The goal is for you to become comfortable using them and build your skills. My intention is for you to take these skills and apply them to your own tops.

We will also explore block designs, and alternate or “Sassy” feathers. I designed this class and they are my instructional videos. In the end, you will have a nice feather sampler to display and refer to.
